Memories
Letting in the Light were approached by Pennybank
House (Rethink) in Leek, a mental health support centre, to collaborate with them on an arts project. Letting in the Light visited the centre and consultated with members of staff and service users to see what their main interests were. The feed back demonstrated quite clearly that they would like to commemorate friends that were no longer with them or able to use the service.

A World Of Difference
Tiny droplets of water, caught in the heart of a flower are magnified to extremes. Massive landscapes are depicted in the in the pupil of the drop. Shifting the perspective on the way we see the world. What is big becomes small, what is small becomes big. Looking into and through – creating a world that can be magical if we take the time. Journeys and favourite places can be found in the most unlikely places, in the minds eye, in a droplet of rain running down the window. The work seeks to inspire the viewer to take their own journey, discover their own favourite place, to applaud the detail and revel in the magnificent, to allow minds to wander in different places to celebrate a world of difference.

Abbey Hulton CAMHS
Letting in the Light were asked to work with young people from Abbey Hulton Children & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), to facilitate a creative project that would produce a series of silk panels to be displayed in the centre. One of the conditions of the clinic getting the funding was that a new artist would be mentored by Letting in the Light for the week.
